The Month of May is National Mediterranean Diet Month, so what better way then to make it a challenge!! This is one of the easiest lifestyle changes to follow with some of the greatest health benefits! I am challenge us to follow this "diet" to the best of your abilities! Since this diet does allow for red wine, I encourage you to drink a glass of red wine (if you drink alcohol) in place of your "sweet or dessert" if you are an after dinner chocolate lover like myself! You'll begin to see how amazing your skin will start to feel and look and how much less you will crave sugar!
Low fat dairy is said to be eaten in moderation; however, I do not believe in taking the fat out of dairy. When fat is taken out the manufacturers have to replace it with something else to make it taste the same, which could be more sodium, sugar, additives/thickeners, etc. Not to mention, when the fat is stripped from food the ability for fat soluble vitamins to be absorbed within the body is much more difficult as there is less fat in the body for the vitamins to absorb. SO BE CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING LOW-FAT DAIRY, it can do more harm then good!
