10 STEPS TO PLANNING THE BEST BACHELORETTE PARTY!
My best friend and twin from college asked me to be her MOH! We celebrated her by throwing her an amazing Bachelorette weekend and wedding shower (stay tuned)! Talk about an eventful weekend :) Read below for some amazing tips to help make the next bachelorette weekend a success for your deserving bride!
Step 1: Talk with the bride to see what she would prefer to do vs. what she wouldn't want to do. Also, ask her what her ideal location and weekend would be! You want to make sure the bride picks the date and location before you start jumping to conclusions. If she tells you she could care less, or wants you to plan everything, then do what is most practical for the the situation, the bride and the bridal party!
Step 2: Collect all the bridal party's information and phone numbers. When you have a large bridal party, I found it easiest to have one or two people make most of the plans to avoid getting frustrated with no one answering or potentially too many responses.
Step 3: RESEARCH. After you have your destination you will want to first look into a place to stay. Airbnb's are cheap these days, especially when you are able to split it with a bunch of girls. Hotels work if your going anywhere or if you may want to hang out by the pool or go to rooftop pool parties, maybe in Vegas. After you've checked a place to stay off your list, you'll want to move to step 4.
Step 4: MORE RESEARCH. Now its time to research fun and exciting things to do in the area. The fun things you choose should be based off the talk you had with your bride in Step 1, and this will also test your friendship to see how well you know your bride.
1. Does she like to party all day and night?
2. Would she rather hang out on the beach all day?
3. Is she against strippers, or would she be into that?
4.Would she want to go to a Wine & Design/DIY class?
5. Does she love to cook, or want to learn? Cooking Class
6. Is her favorite artist/performer in town? Concert tickets
7. Take her to her favorite dinner place or food selection!
8. Pole Dancing Studio or a Belly Dancing Class?
9. Ride a Pub Trolley or go to a Comedy Club
10. Does she love sports? Game dayyyyy!
11. Does she love wine? Vineyard time
12. Salon or Spa Day!
Step 5: Plan. Plan. Plan, and plan some more. This is where your organizational skills will come into play. Once you have an idea of what would make this the best weekend for your bride, you start organizing the weekend of what would be the best scenario based on times, money, and locations. Once you have a base line plan, start making phone calls money bags! Haha this is where it gets spendy, but just make sure after each purchase you ask each of the girls to venmo you money, so you don't end up forking out $500+, unless of course you're okay with that! #1 RULE: The bride pays for nothing this trip!! Meaning, you will split all of costs by one less than the total number of people attending!
Step 6: DECORATIONS with PERSONALIZATIONS! The best part; time to get creative! This was by far my favorite part of planning the bachelorette party!
*Plan to have each girl bring 1-2 lingerie items that you can string from twine and hang as decor!
*Put funny decorations around the house. I blew up embarrassing pictures of the fiance and posted them all over the house and made funny table cards for the meals we had with quotes based on his facial expression. You could even make tattoos of his face!
*Tassels are in & cute balloons make any party better!
*Have a cute backdrop for pics!
*Small, personalized touches make everything better!
*Purchase or find bachelorette party games to play at the house!
*Have gifts for the girls. You don't have to, but it's always a nice touch since everyone is traveling, and have been putting up with your endless emails/texts!
Monogrammed sand cup holders (beach), cute floaty cup holders (pool)
Matching T-shirts, tanks or headbands
Glow sticks and/or blinking rings
Candy, Personalized Cookies
Boas, Beads, Sashes
Bride Tribe tattoos
Step 7: Create and send out an itinerary to everyone involved with everything that will be going on that weekend, with times, locations and addresses/check in and check out times, outfits that need to be worn, any moneys people still owe and/or any extra/hidden costs that people might spend: dinner costs, drinks, ubers, food/snacks for the house, etc.
Step 8: Before the weekend begins, contact each event to make sure times, monies and locations are all set in place and there are not going to be any surprise issues the day of. Also, contact each bridal party member to remind them of the items they are accountable for bringing!
Step 9: Make sure everyone is fed and full at all times! If you need help with making/buying any food or drinks for the food at home, make sure you ask the girls! They will likely be willing to help out :)
Step 10: PARTTTTTTY!
